Sunday Satisfaction...

Sunday is a day where I pretty much do absolutely nothing.  Especially if I have a 9-5.  I usually wake up on Sunday by 8am; I wash up, and get into a pair of yoga pants and t-shirt. I get a cup of tea, and by this time it's 9am, I watch CBS Sunday Morning, then Roland Martin on TVOne.  After Roland goes off, I turn on my computer and read all the blog posts of my favorite bloggers that I haven't been able to read during the week.

Sunday starts with a great cup of Peach Ginger Tea...

Today before I started with my reading, I went through the online sales ads looking for Memorial Day sales.  My honey suggested that we forgo the huge cookout in favor of a romantic picnic for two.  I'm all for it.  On my way home from work this past Friday, I saw this picnic basket at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Although it was at a great price ($39.99), I forgot my BBB coupon and that's a no-no.  You can best believe that I now have the coupon in my wallet and I'm going back to get this basket.

I also a going through recipes for easy picnic lunch.  I don't feel like packing the usual suspects (i.e., ham/cheese or turkey/cheese sandwiches), I would like to try something different.  Then I remembered my "A Sister Loves To Cook" board on Pinterest.  If I can't find something through 309 pins I posted, I'm a hopeless case!

Now all I have to do is figure out my outfit.  But we'll talk about that later this week...

So I've been reading through all 338 posts (I have it bad) enjoying multiple cups of tea throughout the day and I had a wonderful lunch (chicken salad) and dinner (Thai beef w/ broccoli).  I'm down to reading the last 28 posts.

Here were some of my favorites posts that I read today:

  • Kimmiepooh from KPFusion posted a great video of Victoria Beckham's clothing line and how she is going about expanding her business.
  • Who would have thought that office organization supplies would be great to use store your hair accessories!  I will have to make a trip to Staples later this month.
  • Not only do I need to be her size, but Mimi G. needs to be my BFF.  Her style is SICK!  LOVE HER!
  • Miss Moon's Musings wrote a list of her favorite top ten songs.  What she said about Paul Young remaking "Ooh Girl" by the Chi-Lites had me in stitches...
  • After reading this post from Andrea via Fly, I'm going to have to put Spain on my bucket list...

Oh how I love Sundays!

What did you do this Sunday?  Was it as relaxing as mine?  Or did you go all out to give the start of your week a big bang?

Hey there...

Hello everyone!

I have missed you all, but I had so much going on that it was ridiculous!  So I'm going to give one liners as to what's been going on...

  • I sort of received a promotion.  Gentlemen who trained me moved to department down the hall, I'm now in his spot.  It is frantic, time consuming, exhausting, but I'm loving it! By 9pm, I'm knocked out!

  • I had to abandon the "Photo A Day" prompts, mostly because Mon-Fri I was so consumed with work.  I decided, whenever I see anything I want to take a photo of, I'll snap, put it on Instagram and upload.  Speaking of which...
  • Can I just say - no shout: I LOOOOOVE INSTAGRAM!  That is all...
  • I'm even more in love with Pinterest.  I think I'm up to 53 or 55 boards.  I can't stop y'all.
  • I'm in love with my sweetie more and more each day.  Love is really the best medicine.
  • So happy that Summer is on it's way.  Next week is the "Unofficial start of Summer" and we are having a lovely romantic picnic for two.  Can't wait (will take pics and post).
  • Next week I celebrate my third month of employment.  I feel so blessed.  I'm taking care of all of my back payments, saving a bit of money and feel as if my life is back on course.
  • Oh, my new jewelry class starts in two weeks!  SUPER EXCITED!  Now I get to play with pure silver and a torch.  I can't wait!  I've even been drafting up designs (even though I can't draw that well).  I have so many ideas to shape my metal.  With work being so intense, this is just the escape I need to balance my life.  I'm so hyped about this course!

Lastly, I've missed you all.  I really felt so horrible that I didn't post; I'm happy that I found a balance and figured out a way to make this happen.

My two favortie places: Shake Shack and Barnes and Noble.  Get a milkshake and a burger, then buy a book.  Best afternoon ever!

When I want a sweet snack, instead of candy bar, I eat jelly bellys.
One of my many fashionable lunch bags.  Brown bagging and saving money is the smart thing to do these days.

Finished a turkey with provolone sandwich,  Doritos and grapes.  So much for a healthy lunch...

Items that were in my wallet.  Mind you, I had the Photo A Day - April list in my wallet.  This was one of the shots that I had to take. $21, Pathmark Club Card, Old Navy coupon, CVS green bag key, an article on spas and some reciepts.

Subway art on #2 train.  I would like to have this in my home...

Me in the car...had just washed my hair and had MAJOR shrinkage...

I love this Red Velvet Cupcake from Crumbs Bakery.   My vow: this is my once a month treat.

I work on Wall Street.  This is what's left of the movement.   They're hanging tough though.

Had a box of the most AMAZING tomatoes from the organic market.  What did I do with them?  Well...

I found recipe on how to make homemade tomato sauce!  I'll never buy a jar of Prego again! It was  so easy!

PET PEEVE: I am so sick of women putting their makeup on  while on the subway! UNSANITARY!

So that's the gist of what has been going on at the moment.  I'll be back tomorrow for sure.  Have some new blogs I want to share with you and give you the up to date scoop on this bake off that I posted about a month ago.  Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Morning Funnies...

If you live in NYC, more than likely you've seen this commercial on NY1. This has to be the worst commercial ever! Not only are the numbers just plain wrong, watch the guy in the white shirt. He knows and can sing everyone else's line, get it right, but his own part, jacks it right up. How many takes did they record before they just said "forget it, let's go with take 16"... And then they sing their "WORLDWIDE" AND "NATIONWIDE";I guess so if your phone number is promoting what I call Lucifer Car Service! Worst commercial ever I tell you!

Have a good one!

Photo A Day - Reflection

I thought a bit out of the box for "Reflection"...

March 30, 2012 - 6:52am
I actually took this picture a couple of days ago.  I was on my way to work waiting on the train platform for my train to arrive.  I looked up at the sky and I saw the clouds.  No, I saw the heavens.  And I thought about my mom, my grandparents, my family members who are no longer here.  I thought about how they are up there, keeping me safe.  I thought about how I wished they all were here to give me advice, guide me, assure me that everything will work itself out when I'm unsure, frustrated or just plain scared.  I thought about how much I missed them.

Then I thought about how small we really are, how life is to be lived and enjoyed fully.  I thought about  how I have so much more to do.  I thought about how I haven't really done what I wanted, that it may be too late.  Then I pushed that aside, pulled out my phone camera, snapped the picture.  Then I looked back up said "Thank You".
